Water falls on the valley walls, riding through a shower, Bare rock on the valley side, often the site of avalanches.


Osprey nests atop power poles, looking down a side valley as the train crosses a bridge, the river widens out into lake.

At the end of the day we arrived in Kamloops where we left the train for a bus to our hotel which was outside of town right on the river. These pictures were taken from our balcony.

Back on the train in the morning, we head for Banff to catch the bus for Lake Louise.

1. Shuswap Lake,  2, 3, 4 Farmland, 5. We stopped along this watery area while a freight passed by on the main line.


The Mountains get higher and snowier, the valley narrower and the river (the Eagle) runs faster and shows the color of glacial melt.
